hello everyone!
just wanted to let you all know that i have moved journals! i finally realized the name was just not working. it was cute when i first made it - i even intended it to eventually be my business name. then i realized that 90% of people that read my journal or visit my website would not know what it means!
anyway, you can add me at http://button_pom.livejournal.com see you there!
i've added most of you already but i might have missed a few i apologize! feel free to add away!

Hello! I realized in the midst of updating my website that I forgot to ask what places I should visit while in Boston this weekend. M & I are attending a wedding in Westborough and I know some of you live around there. We will be in Chinatown for sure - M's popo lives there! But anywhere else... I am completely unfamiliar with.
Awesome! Thanks everyone :)

Hello again everyone! Thanks for all your help on the last question I have. Unfortunately, I have another one :(
I have NO clue how much cash/change I should bring to the craft show. I was thinking about $200-300 worth. But how many singles, fives, tens, twenties should I bring? The prices for my items range from $5-$60.
I hope you guys can help!
If you are in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area and want to attend, please check out www.craftstravaganza.com for more info. Some awesome designers will be there!
Thanks in advance everyone!

I don't have much time. But I wanted to say Hi! & let you all see what I have been working on. You can click on this brown tote image to see more of what I have been working on for SPC!
This is one of several circle totes that I have been working on! I love how they have been turning out... but trying to match the ends of the rick rack together can be rather frustrating!

hello lovelies!
i realized that i still had stuff left over in my etsy shop and i realize i need to get rid of them before i restock it with the items i have left over from SP craftstravaganza! so, i put everything on sale that is left in the shop. your benefit for me being silly and forgetting about etsy!
you can take a look around at http://buttonpom.etsy.com .
thanks everyone!

thank you for all of your help with the fabrics for the baby quilt. i really appreciate it. i was glad to hear that i was not the only crazy one that would like this for a baby.
anyway, here is my progress! i have sewn together the top of the baby quilt! i still need to add the border, though. i am planning on hand quilting it and once i figure out how to machine quilt i will make more of these for the craft fair and my website. i have all the things to do it, but i am not sure how to do it correctly! my grandmother has NEVER machine quilted any of her quilts so she won't be much of a help :)

can i ask you all a quick question? i was wondering if you think these fabrics are okay for a baby quilt:

these are all the fabrics i have on hand and i am SO itching to make a baby quilt because i am stuck in the attic because it has the only working air conditioner. the only options i have up in the attic is to be on the computer or cut fabric and i decided a baby quilt would be fun.
the quilt would be 5x5" squares with a 3" border in the light green/blue color on the vine fabric.
what do you think? i would prefer not to make a traditional pink/blue quilt and i was wondering if these colors would be likeable for a baby. in my opinion, i would certainly buy these colors for my baby because they are some of my FAVORITE!
thank you everyone. :) i just want to make sure i am not crazy !

i did more than two items yesterday, six to be exact!
i would have done more, but i ran out of snaps and i didn't want to make any more until i had more snaps ! :)
thanks to everyone for measuring their wrists! i really appreciate it! it made me happy to see such a response. it will help me a great deal in deciding what sizes of wrist cuffs to make. i think on the bigger ones i will put two sets of snaps so people with smaller wrists can also purchase those if i run out!

i am burning up! our airconditioners aren't working and i want to DIE! so to keep myself preoccupied i've kept my promise for 2 things a day,
these are my next two! i didn't post yesterday, but i made two wrist cuffs just like the one posted here! i came up with the idea after i realized how much little scraps i had.
i am a little obsessed with this fabric combination, so that is all i have been working with lately.
ETA: can i ask you guys what your wrist sizes are? mine is 6" and i have made the wrist cuffs to fit up to 7" wrists... but i want to see if i should make bigger or smaller ones! thanks everyone :)

started telling myself that i have to make 2 things a day for the the upcoming minneapolis/st.paul craft fair. here are my first two! if i stick to my guns, that will mean i'll have... 2 x 45 days = 90 items! i hope that is enough :)
sorry for the poor pictures. tomorrow is a super busy day & i was too excited about these to wait 2 days to take photos for show and tell!
we get new carpet tomorrow, yay yay yay! that means our attic renovation will be done, yay yay yay!
i must always sound super excited?

been busy getting the house together. its been exhausting. the attic and new bathroom are almost done. we just have to carpet the attic and finish tiling the bathroom. how exciting.
in the meantime i have been making a garden. i started a strawberry plant in a strawberry jar. our backyard is so overgrown i had no other choice. but its cute! :)
i closed my shop but i still haven't made anything for the craft fair. i also owe cheyenne a trade! sorry cheyenne, i know what i want to make you. i just have to make it.
been looking for a job. so far i've applied for a lot. just waiting for some interviews. i am actually excited about working again, i am getting rather anxious without work.
hope everyone is well. summertime and the living is easy!

hello everyone! hope you are all doing well. i have been super busy because i graduate this summer! this does not mean i have not had time to buy some fabrics though :)

vintage, vintage, vintage! i know i am going to be all afraid to cut them up though. i never like to use my vintage fabric. what makes me happy though is my grandmother has invited me over next week to go through all of her fabric! she wants to get rid of most of it & she knows i will take it off her hands. excitement! :) she has two full trunks of feedsack... hopefully i can get that!
oh! & i have a question: for those of you that have participated in craft fairs, do you make your own signs? if so, how? i was thinking of either handpainting it on vinyl or screenprinting it on cotton broadcloth. do you recommend one or the other? or any other suggestions? if you bought one, how much did you spend? THANK YOU! :)

been a busy weekend! the renovating job in the basement and attic is almost done! we painted the attic this weekend, and all that is left to do is put in the new windows and add trim to the baseboards.
here is what the new paint color looks like. i love green :)
this is where tinymixtapes headquarters will be. lucky m&m! i am jealous! why can't it be buttonpom headquarters :)
i will have to share more photos of when everything is all done. but i was so excited about how it looked after the fresh paint that i couldn't resist :)
hope everyone is doing well! ( before remodel )

hello everyone! how are you all doing? i hope you are all happy and having fun! as you know, i reopened my shop. yay! this is the first time having the shop open under the new name (thanks to everyone's help for helping me decide on the name!)
and, i was wondering... if we have not already... do you want to trade links? i love all of your work, and so i want to promote all of you! :)
i'm continuing to work on more items to update the shop! i've run out of interfacing, though... so i must wait :)
ALSO, i'm working on making/buying a sign for the upcoming craftfair i am attending does anyone have an advice? my brother offered to make one, but he said supplies are going to cost more than i am willing to spend. i live right across the street from a local screenprinting shop, so is it worth it to buy a sign?

hello everyone! i hope you are all doing well. i've been keeping myself busy. i made this clutch a few days ago, & i was planning on putting it up on etsy today (along with another red one) but i have decided that i am not too happy with the quality of it because the interfacing was way too stiff and wrinkles easily.
so now i have 2 big clutches i don't know what to do with! i will probably either use one myself, since i never make anything for myself or give them away to someone.
