.
I just got back last night from a day-lab business trip and the annual Brimfield Antique and Flea Market Show. There were 5,000 vendors and it was overwhelming, all the things to see. I am so glad I was able to experience Brimfield, even in my highlighter yellow Pancho through the rain and the cold (well, cold to me at least).
I didn't take one picture unfortunately, but Sarah got plenty of great shots...

View the rest of the Brimfield pictures over HERE. .

| little birds |
[16 May 2008|09:59am] |
i made these ilttle birds for my brother's wedding cake. the top layer of the cake is only 6 inches across, so figuring out a way to do these was quite a challenge. I ended up bending wire legs and leaving a 5 inch spike on the bottom of each foot to stick into the cake. i had to go out and buy a hostess cupcake to make sure it would work and it seems good. these are TINY...like 3 inches including the legs. tiny things are NOT easy to make...but these are the 2nd to last things i have to make for the wedding and i am so happy they are done.
i have just one more thing to make that i can't discuss here, but it will be very easy, so i'm not worried...
one more week! congratulations Scott and Anney!!!

| Anyone know how to fix my Opera?? =/ |

pissed off |

Ok, I've been using Opera because for some reason IE just builds and builds memory until the computer crashes. And firefox doesn't work with several sites I use.
The problem is this: I started using Opera, and all it does is load half the images on the page, and as I'm scrolling to read/look at things/etc, it keeps pulling me to the top of the page. Over. And over. Even after it loads completly, I will scroll down, and it will start.reloading. the. images.
I am gettting really pissed off at this, no matter how many times I load the page it does it over and over. Also I tell it to allow popups/java/etc and some games will not load on pogo.com, which is why I started using it, because I was having the memory leaks mostly from pogo (and a few other sites.) I also have problems with Opera just freezing on low level pages (such as commenting on lj) and having to reload the whole page =/
At this point I am fed up with all of them.
Does anyone have a fix? Please? I am about to just go back to ie and close the damn windows I'm in every 10 minutes. -_-

Mike just told me about this: my literary/TV-crush John Hodgman blogged about our beloved Meomi today! How incredibly cool is that? No, he doesn't quite mention them by name, but he does declare that "Canada Is Perfect." And with half of the Meomi team right across the border, how could we argue with that?
So yay for the Hodge and yay for Meomi, and just for kicks, here's a pic of me with the Hodge back from 2006. He is so awesome!

| Brooklyn Flea |
[14 May 2008|01:25pm] |
Here are some pictures from Brooklyn Flea a few weekends ago.
The beautiful Becca models with Lumpers. Do you think they are long lost cousins? They even have the same eye color! Uncanny!
One fun thing about hanging out in the Etsy tent was that people introduced themselves by saying "I have an Etsy shop too!" Afterward I went home and looked them all up and discovered some good stuff. One person I met was the adorable Astulabee who was a winner in the Softie Awards!
Here is one little happy customer. It was a rainy day, but you'd never know it with this bright and cheerful pair!

Another great thing about hanging out with Etsy was this whale love banner. I love it so much.

But the best thing was spending some quality time with Cal, Julie, Mary, and the rest of the Etsy teacher gang. It was teacher day, so everyone selling at the Etsy tent that day was a teacher at the labs. I've got a few new classes in the works, so stay tuned to find out about them. I can't wait to see the new Etsy Labs. They've moved to a different floor in the same building and word is they are bigger and better than ever!
